Pacific Point Defense Seeks Entry-Level Trial Attorney
June 17, 2025 | Erin Stewart

Start your legal career where it counts.

At Pacific Point Defense, we don’t just fill courtrooms—we fight in them. Our attorneys secured trial verdicts in dozens of cases last year and argued critical motions across jurisdictions up and down the West Coast. This is an exciting, trial-forward practice with an unmatched team of criminal defense attorneys. You won’t find another office quite like ours.

For 18 years, Pacific Point has been a cornerstone of criminal defense in Washington. We’re proud to have built a reputation not on growth metrics or corporate polish—but on results. We tie our success to what matters: victories in the courtroom and meaningful outcomes for real people.

Now, we’re looking for a new attorney—someone fresh out of law school or just starting their career—who’s ready to step into the arena.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Lower Caseloads, Higher Impact
With the support of the WSBA and Washington Supreme Court we’ve recently lowered attorney caseload limits across the board—more than ever before—because quality defense takes time and intention. This shift creates a unique opportunity for new attorneys to do truly excellent work and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Unmatched Trial Experience
Our team doesn’t just “handle” cases—we take them to trial. From complex motions to hard-fought verdicts, we offer new attorneys the kind of courtroom experience that typically takes years to find elsewhere.
  • A Tight-Knit, Supportive Team
You’ll be working with some of the best criminal defense attorneys in Washington—mentors who are not just talented, but passionate about lifting up the next generation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Represent clients charged with misdemeanors in  Municipal Courts in Pierce and Thurston County
  • Handle all aspects of litigation—from first appearance through trial
  • Travel locally for hearings (based in our Tacoma office, with flexibility for remote work)
  • Learn and grow in a fast-paced, high-trust environment where autonomy and collaboration go hand-in-hand

What We’re Looking For:

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • WSBA membership (or ability to become licensed in WA shortly)
  • A fierce commitment to defending the accused and fighting systemic injustice
  • Strong interpersonal communication and a deep sense of empathy
  • Interest in trial work—experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to thrive in a team-centered culture

What We Offer:

  • Salary: $75,000–$100,000 DOE
  • Reasonable caseloads + real work-life balance
  • Access to experienced litigators and courtroom mentorship
  • A dynamic practice where no two days—and no two cases—are the same
  • A chance to make a measurable difference in the lives of our clients, every day
