WSBA Volunteer Opportunity: Access to Justice (ATJ) Board
May 13, 2025 | Erin Stewart

The Access to Justice Board is recruiting for new members who are committed to advancing equity and justice in Washington State.

The detailed job description can be found here: Access to Justice Board Position Description<https://www.wsba.org/docs/default-source/legal-community/volunteer/position-descriptions/access-to-justice-board-volunteer-position-description-updated-2022.pdf?sfvrsn=129911f1_18>.

The priority deadline is May 30, 2025.

This is a meaningful opportunity to serve on a statewide level and help shape efforts to make legal systems more equitable and just — especially for communities facing poverty, racism, and other forms of systemic oppression.

The ATJ Board is looking for individuals who bring experience in the legal field, community advocacy, or lived experience navigating these systems. A legal background is not required — what matters most is a commitment to equity and a history of collaboration, strategic thinking, strong communication, and leading to build a stronger community.

Note: The Washington State Bar Association is currently recruiting for multiple other entities as well, including the Committee on Professional Ethics, the Pro Bono and Public Service Committee, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, and more. These are additional ways to make an impact and help shape the future of the legal field in Washington.
